Knitter: 3D knitting

Seems I wasn’t that far off when I talked about KnitML and how it could be used by software to generate 3D renderings of patterns. Some smart people started a project like that in SourceForge. It’s called Knitter.
The project was started before KnitML, but they have since adopted the standard. I wish I had a PC to give it a try.
It’s still somewhat rough, but hopefully we’ll see some 3D knitting software in the not so distant future.
I know I speak for knitters everywhere when I say it would be nice to see how a pattern would look like on us before spending a couple f months knitting.

I just found your comment on my software (I’m writing Knitter). I’ve just made a new release that’s still rough, but getting better. I’m actually considering packaging it for OSX some point soon if I can get ahold of the right software. Thanks for the mention!
